Sin entered the world through Adam’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden, causing all humanity to inherit a sinful nature and be separated from God (Romans 5:19; Genesis 3:1-19). Because all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), our only way to be cleansed is through repentance and seeking forgiveness through Jesus Christ, who gave His life so that we might have eternal life (John 3:16). By believing in Jesus, who died for our sins and is risen from the dead, we are forgiven and given the hope of eternal life with God.
If you’re ready to make a personal commitment to Jesus, you can begin by praying, acknowledging your sins, and asking Him into your life. An example prayer is: “Lord Jesus, I repent of all my sins and ask You to forgive me. Cleanse me, enter my heart, and lead me in Your ways. I renounce my former life and choose to follow You.”
As you start this journey, find a community of believers, begin reading the Bible, and seek God’s purpose for your life.
